OUR FIRST HOUSE!!

Yea! We are homeowners! James and I bought our first house on June 21st! After months of looking, waiting, looking, and waiting, we found the perfect house! We are in the same area of North Raleigh. We are about 5 miles south from where the apartment was and the commute for James is about 1/2! We are 5 miles from my parents. We found a house in a swim, tennis neighborhood. Our house in on the end of a quite street. We have a 2 car garage, and a large, flat back yard, perfect for playing outside, grilling out, and in the fall bond fires. We are so excited to be moved in and starting to make the house ours. We have painted a couple rooms, but still have more we want to do. It is so exciting to have our first place!!

This picture is from MLS and was taken last December when the trees were bare. I will take a new one soon. They previous owners had planted beautiful rose bushes, plants, and trees. Now all we have to do is learn how to take care of it. They had installed a inground sprinkler system which is really nice to have!

Our bedroom. We have removed the window treatments and put up sheers to brighten the room up. We have also painted and got new bedroom furniture!

Our backyard!!!!

After I went picture crazy, it was already time to pick up Aidan. The guys were getting ready to paint the family room when I left. We used diapers on the ends of the latter so we didn't mark up the walls!

Thank god we have insurance! This made me so nervous.

After paint! I am glad we liked the color. James said if I didn't, too bad. :) By this time, Corey was leaving and we have this one wall finished! James and I were determined to at least finish this room because we had to move in the next day. We had 4 days to be completely moved out of the apartment. So...we stayed up paint all night.
At 1 in the morning, Aidan was sleeping in his pack and play, and James and I took Roxy outside. I had my glass of wine and was ready for a break. We went to go back inside, and the door had locked behind us!!! The old owner had put electric locks on the doors and we didn't know the code yet! James wanted to break in the glass of the back french door. I said no way! So, we woke up our new neighbors at 130 AM to use their phone. Nice first impression, huh? So after an hour we were let in by a 24 hour locksmith. (I could see Aidan sleeping the whole time through the window, and he was completely safe, otherwise we would have broken in a window). So....here is James and the locksmith....

4 days later we are moved in and enjoying Aidan's playroom!

Peyton came to play so his mom could do some errands!

Our kitchen still needs paint, but it is getting there. We replaced the light and got a new table.

Study still needs paint and decorations hung.
