March 09

My little man turned two in March! What a bad mom I am not updating the blog with this big event! We had a fun Birthday Parade Party at the house with friends!

The weekend after Aidan's birthday, I packed up and went to Atlanta-all by myself- to see these lovie ladies! This was the first time I had left Aidan to go anywhere. I had a wonderful time with the girls. Here are some shots from Nichole's baby shower.
Lauren brought her new baby twins so I could get some practice! Colton and Cameron are beautiful!
The mommy-to-be! We were pregnant at the same time this year!
After Tristian and the twins get here, we will have 6 kids between all of us!
We were lucky enough to spend more time with Lauren and the twins when they came to North Carolina the following week! I can't believe that in a few short months, this will be a common sight at our house!

February 09

Our Bunco group started a book club last year. In February book club was at our house, and thanks to Meredith, the author of our book came to our meeting! Therese Fowler was wonderful and it was so neat to meet the author of a wonderful book, Souvenir! Read about Therese here... http://theresefowler.com/
In February we got the sad news that our dear friends the Yates were moving back to TX. Marshall, Meredith, and Peyton have been such wonderful friends over the past two years! We hate to see them go, but we plan to have annual (at least) family trips! We are so thankful for their family and know we will be lifelong friends!
Aidan enjoyed a ride with the top down in Grammy's Mustang. That is right, my first car has a new owner. So glad it stayed in the family!! As for me, I am now driving a big, beautiful MINI VAN!
Here are some sweet pictures of my little valentine!
Making our valentines for playgroup friends!

He would look at his valentines everyday for weeks! He thought it was so fun to dump out the bag of cards and look at all of them!

Ironic

How we shared the news with The Brogdon family that baby #2 was on the way....
We called our BIL who was in Savannah with the rest of the Brogdon's celebrating New Years. James and I had Christmas this year with my family in North Carolina, so we were home. We told Brain that we needed him to get everyone in front of the computer, and that we were sending a email. We sent the following pictures through a slideshow. Very ironic now, as we had no idea that we were having twins. We even have a video of their reactions I will find and post. It is so funny that they actually thought we were saying that we were having twins, by the two tests. WE HAD NO CLUE. Why did I only take 2 tests, and not the 3 that were in the box? I have no idea. Why did we take the picture with James holding 2 tests, and not one? No clue. We didn't find out we were having twins for several weeks later. :)

(The following were the captions in the slideshow)
We hope you are having a great New Years! We wish we could be there with you!

Santa brought Aidan and very special, but late, Christmas gift this year. It must have gotten lost on the sleigh.

And baby makes 4!!!

Little did we know that babies would make 5!

I'm Back!!

Wow, I can't believe I went over 7 months without updating the blog! I guess you can say I was a little busy... :) I am going to try to get all caught in the next next week or two....or three....
I really enjoy keeping this blog as it is a great way to journal our "growing" family over time. I love going back to my original posts and reading about what the days were like when Aidan was a baby. Now he is two and a half and has two little brothers! I am very excited to update all of my pictures and introduce our new little boys! :)

Here is a little sneak peak....

We're having a baby.....actually two!

Well we have some exciting news to share....we are expecting twins sometime in August! Yes, you read that right....TWINS! We found out we were pregnant the end of December and very excited! Aidan and the new baby would be 2 and a half years apart! I was starting to feel very sick and tired, much different than my pregnancy with Aidan. I could have swore that it was a girl, based on what I have heard, that you are more sick with girls. Not sure if this is actually true, but I was convinced that it had to be a girl! I had a doctors appointment the 14th of January and they did all my blood work. The results came back that my pregnancy hormone levels were very high, indicting that I might actually be a little further along that I thought! Great news! James and I went back to the doctor last Friday for our first ultrasound and got some shocking news. The doctor was doing the ultrasound and he made a comment, almost laughing..."Oh........".... I really didn't know what he was getting at until I looked at the screen. I knew immediately what I saw, two little circles, not the one that I saw with Aidan. I think one of us asked "why, what's wrong", and the doctor said, "One....Two....Twins!". Wow, I will never forget that moment, shocking to say the least. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would have twins! The first thing I said was, "I am going to need a van!". At 26, this is a big deal!

When we left the doctors I think we were still in shock, well I think we will be until they arrive. I kept asking James if he was ok. We got in the car and starting calling our families. Of course everyone was shocked! James mom could not stop saying "Oh my.....Oh my...Oh my." My mom is still asking "what are we going to do", and says she knows what she will be doing the next 2 years. Haley offered to get a job and that made me laugh! Dad called me a few hours after I gave him the news and asked if I was joking. :)

Twin pregnancy's are considered high risk, for no reason other than the risk of preterm labor. I am young and healthy, and had a full term pregnancy with Aidan, so we should not have any issues. The good news is that we will get ultrasounds at almost every appointment and they will watch us three much more closely! That is exciting! We will also go to Duke a few times for level 2 Ultrasounds, so they can get a better look at each baby! We should make our first trip to Duke sometime in March and will find out the sexes of the babies!

We are so excited about everything our future holds! The babies should be here sometime in August. August 14th they will be considered full term for twins, so hopefully they will not make their debut until then. I have to admit I am looking forward to having a shorter pregnancy. The latest I will go is August 28th, and that would be 2 weeks early. Aidan was born at 41 weeks, so that will be a big difference!
